noticings

There's a little online photo game called noticings. It's about, uh, noticing stuff. The idea is to notice something, photograph it for the game, post the photo on flickr, tag it noticings, and geotag it. Meaningless points are awarded for various arbitrary reasons -- first time post, first post from that neighborhood, misspelled stuff, lost stuff, etc. Info can be found on the noticings blog and the game is played from the noticings dashboard.

Here are my first two offerings.

RED ELVISES
Kick Ass Rock 'n' Roll From Siberia

Happy Valentine's Day
Heart-shaped window bars

What will I notice next? Stay tuned.

More of the same.

Here are a few snaps from recent photo cruises around the Old East Hill neighborhood in Pensacola.

I have a thing for crisp, white buildings. And repetitive patterns. (Is that phrase redundant?) And stairs. And windows. Frames. Diagonals. Textures.

I wonder if fascination with these things is common to all photographers?

I wish tonight I could go to sleep in my little room in the Berkshires.

In the morning I would creep downstairs before the others are awake.

I would drink coffee, ponder Rudi, and gaze at the misty world through leaded glass.
